Through a daily program of academic classes, individual and group treatment services, community-based learning opportunities, family support, and social work case management, the Centerpoint school provides an alternative educational experience to help students build skills in the areas of:
- emotional & behavioral management and self-control
- problem-solving and decision making
- healthy teen and adult relationships
- positive social skills and communication
With multiple levels of care to match the needs of a wide range of students, the Centerpoint School is designed to address:
- academic accommodations for attentional difficulties, learning disabilities, and mild learning impairment
- adolescent anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders
- adolescent opposition, defiance, and conduct disorders
- family communication and conflict
- adolescent substance abuse
As a state-approved independent school, students attending Centerpoint receive credit toward graduation and participate in academics in accordance with standards set by the Vermont Department of Education.
Referrals to Centerpoint's Alternative Education & Day Treatment services are generally coordinated through a student's special education program with tuition provided by the sending district. For more information, or to receive a referral packet, please contact:
