CP Stepping Stones

An individualized Day Treatment Service for high needs students struggling with severe emotional, behavioral, mental health, or learning challenges.

Centerpoint Stepping Stones provides a specialized program of educational and mental health services designed to serve the most intensive Day Treatment needs. Centerpoint Stepping Stones works with students who:

• have experienced repeated school failure or conflict
• are unable to establish or maintain healthy peer relationships
• have not demonstrated success working in small groups
• are hands-on learners requiring highly accommodated experiences

Through an individualized and intensive plan of care, Centerpoint Stepping Stones staff guides students in developing new skills and achieving greater potential in:

• academic (thematic or applied) performance
• peer and adult relationships
• emotional stability and growth
• life skill building, vocational development, and future planning

With services based in South Burlington and Winooski, Centerpoint Stepping Stones maintains a primary focus on community exploration, participation, and immersion.

As part of Centerpoint's array of Day Treatment Services, CP Stepping Stones participants have full access to the professional staff and expert resources available to all Day Treatment students. Centerpoint is a state-approved independent school and students attending our alternative education day treatment services receive credit toward high school graduation. Centerpoint Stepping Stones services are provided in accordance with a student's individual education program (IEP) and with standards set by the Vermont Department of Education.

Referrals to Day Treatment, including Centerpoint Stepping Stones, are generally coordinated through a student's special education program with tuition provided by the sending district. For more information, or to receive a referral packet, please contact:
